The Pretty Old Bird B&B, nestled on the bank of the Esopus Creek, was built by Dutch settler Cornelius Cool as early as 1663. One of the oldest houses in New York. The home's stone walls, wood beams, and other details of early Dutch architecture imbue the space with warmth and an enduring sense of history. Today the tranquil setting offers a variety of experiences. The rambling stone house has five rooms, each with unique amenities. Wander through the lush backyard, past the inviting cedar hot tub and historic barn, or meander down to the creek to take an indulgent dip in our own private swimming spot, hop on a paddleboard or head out in the kayak. Don't forget to say hello to the friendly chickens! In the morning you can enjoy their fresh eggs, along with herbs from our garden and maple syrup tapped from our trees.
